Entrepreneur Work-Life Balance: Strategies of Coping With Role-Conflicts

The master's thesis is devoted to identifying the main factors in the choice of strategies to cope with role-playing conflicts in entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation, which are caused by an imbalance in work and life. During the research it was proved that the choice of a particular strategy will be related to the value and motivational structure of the entrepreneur, objective conditions of his activity (political and social conditions), as well as the degree of his satisfaction, however, social and demographic characteristics and economic conditions do not affect the choice of the coping strategy. The study used a mixed methods research strategy. The first (qualitative) stage was conducted using semi-structured interviews. The purpose of the qualitative stage of the research was to form an idea of perception. by entrepreneurs to balance work and life, to find models of strategies for coping with role-playing conflicts. A total of 10 interviews were conducted with microentrepreneurs operating in St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and Kaliningrad. The data were collected in May 2019 through 7 face-to-face meetings (4 in St. Petersburg and 3 in Kaliningrad) and 3 telephone interviews. Quantitative data was collected in March-April 2020. Respondents were microenterprise owners living and working in Kaliningrad, Arkhangelsk and St. Petersburg. The total number of respondents was 142.
