Первая глава посвящена анализу динамики смертности от сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний в Скандинавии, в работе на основе данных по смертности оценен вклад болезней системы кровообращения в изменение ожидаемой продолжительности жизни, изучена структура смертности по видам причин смерти внутри этого класса – ишемической болезни сердца, группы цереброваскулярных заболеваний и прочих сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний. Во второй главе определены факторы риска болезней системы кровообращения и описан опыт изучения этих факторов в Скандинавских странах. Последняя глава содержит описание мер профилактики, снижающих воздействие факторов риска, которые были приняты в Скандинавии и их классификация. Также даны рекомендации по внедрению мер, показавших эффективность, в России.
