The Everyday Borders of Socialism: Discursive Practices in the Late Stalin-era Personal Diaries (1940-1953)

The research is devoted to discursive practices in personal diaries of Soviet province in the late Stalin era. In the field of Soviet history most scholars study ideology on the base of official documents such as periodical, departmental and party reports which show us the situation from the side of authorities. The project deals with ideological discourse reproduction in personal diaries. This paper will analyze diaries textual forms and reveal ideology boundaries in the Soviet everyday life by using critical discourse analysis.
