By the middle of the 1930's, large-scale political and economic campaigns in the USSR had changed the face of the country. However, not all the results of state policy have had a positive impact on the country's economy. Many factors that arose in the course of certain events (the nature of strategic and tactical decisions, the degree of their reasonableness, the attitude of the population to them) determined the final result. Some revolutionary ideas eventually proved ineffective and useless in the real world. The results of the "big leap" policy and collectivization had a negative impact on the country's economy. All this led to the necessary changes in the ideological direction of the Soviet Union. This paper examines the ideological reorientation in the USSR in the period 1935-1936 in the life of urban youth. The analysis of various sources, including periodicals and official state publications, will reveal the reasons for the transformation, their nature and impact on the youth community.
