The social group of boyar scions (deti boyarskie) were directly responsible for the settlement and population of Siberia and Verhotursky uyezd as a particular case. There is a significant amount of studies dedicated to the service people and boyar scions, but there are relatively few that focus on the specific local communities. The goal of this work is to investigate which duties formed the careers of boyar scions of Verkhotursky uyezd. The sources for this investigation primarily consist of the documents, produced by the administrative offices of Verkhoturye and the inventories of the archival collections.
