This work is devoted to the poetics of V. V. Mayakovsky's poem "About it" ("Pro eto") (1923), which reflected the discursive contradictions of the NEP era, in particular, an ambivalent view of private life. Analyzing the poem, we were primarily focused on the theme of love and jealousy in it. In addition to the poetics of "About it" , we were also interested in its reception. Despite the fact that the poem was negatively accepted by the critique, it still remained in the Canon, because in a separate edition of it with A. M. Rodchenko's illustrations, a love myth was already formed – after all, the photo collages depicted Mayakovsky himself and his beloved, Lilya Brik. It seems to us that this myth was adopted primarily by the female view, which remained in the shadows until the 1960s; but in the thaw, due to changes in ideas about intimate life, it became popular, which influenced the re-evaluation of both the poem "About it" and Mayakovsky's intimate art in general.
