This work is aimed to study the attitude of young people in St. Petersburg to death in the context of biographical projects. The research was carried out using qualitative methodology: 15 semi-structured in-depth interviews with young people living in St. Petersburg were collected and coded. As a result of this work it was found out how the representatives of young people see their own death, what measures of treatment of dead people's accounts in social networks see as correct, and how they treat innovations in the field of digital immortality. In addition, attention is drawn to the taboo topic of death in the family and among friends. As it was found out during the analysis of interviews, the perceptions of young people about death, the presence or absence of fear of death, their attitude to funeral rites and other aspects of death are largely related to the education given by the family, with religiosity, adherence to different values, for example, ecological, and general emotional state.
