This study adds to the research of the anti-vaccination movement in the media. It draws attention to the framing of anti-vaccination movement in press, which has been generally disregarded in the existing literature. The study is focused on the comparison of anti-vaccination framing in the Russian and the American media, while previous studies focused mainly on its social media representation or paid only partial attention to the framing. It was found that Russian discussion of anti-vaccination movement in media was not as vast as in the US, and was not present in major newspapers. The analysis of discussion of anti-vaccination movement in media of the US and Russia enabled to derive four frames for each country, that the press used to form public opinion on the issue. It was suggested that the analysis of frames in both countries shows that in the US anti-vaccination supporters are presented as marginalized but strong social movement, and in Russia media presents anti-vaccination ideas as individualistic.
