The association between position in the social hierarchy and the health lifestyles was documented in numerous studies. There are some studies that consider gender as a control variable, but there is a lack of research that explore the different social mechanisms of production of health-related behavior for men and women separately in Russia. In this paper the effect of social factors on health lifestyles of Russian women and men separately is observed. Based on the previous research, it was hypothesized that the different social variables affect the adoption of health lifestyle for men and women. Based on the national representative sample (RLMS-HSE, 2018 year), the cluster analysis was applied for revealing healthy lifestyles of men and women. The riskiest unhealthy lifestyles are observed for men. The difference in the social determinants of health lifestyles of men and women was observed.
