The topic of the master's thesis is professional burnout of personnel, which is widely discussed both in science and in practice. Burnout syndrome is most susceptible to helping jobs. The focus of our work is the professional burnout of nurses. The purpose of the study is to identify the degree of professional burnout of nurses and its connection with the types of motivation - this is the scientific novelty of our study. The paper assumes that only nurses with a certain type of motivation are able to cope with the load, follow the mission and not be burned out. Based on the data of a survey and a correlation analysis, we verify the hypothesis that there is a connection between the types of motivation and the degree of burnout syndrome. As a result, intrinsic motivation of nurses reduces the risk of burnout syndrome, and external negative motivation, on the contrary, contributes to the development of the syndrome. It was also found that 64% of the surveyed nurses had high and extremely high degree of burnout, which indicates the severity of the problem and the need for its solution.
