The Formation of the System of Environmental Education (the case of Saint-Petersburg)

During the study, the concept of «environmental education and the main stages of its development, the main directions in environmental science were studied. The main stages of the development of environmental education in the Russian Federation and the experience of implementing environmental education systems in other countries were studied too. In the second part of the study, professional and educational standards and the competencies of teachers were analyzed to determine the level of their greening. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the National education strategy for the sustainable development of the Russian Federation, within which the Principles of new educational systems were found, which became the basis for creating a codebook and subsequent content analysis of the main documents of Saint-Petersburg related to environmental education. As a result, recommendations were made that contribute to improving the environmental education system in Russia.
