The paper considers the semantic properties of the noun ‘moment’ which account for its use in the constructions under study. It observes groups of proper nouns that are most commonly used in them, traces the origins of some collocations, and focuses on the analysis and precise description of the conceptual mechanisms that underly this type of coinages.
