Investigation of the Features of Project Risk Management in the Audit Company

An audit company, like any existing subject of economic activity, inevitably faces a number of risks. Therefore, when starting each new project, the company must identify and evaluate possible risks. The audit can be considered as a project, since it has the main characteristics of the project described in PMBOK. So, the audit is a temporary enterprise, for which the company mobilizes resources in order to obtain a unique result - in this case - issuing an audit opinion on the financial statements of the client’s company. Therefore, we can apply project management methods to projects for conducting audits, including methods of risk management, which this work is dedicated to.  This study is devoted to the development of recommendations for improving the risk management of projects for conducting audits of financial statements that will increase the likelihood of achieving project goals for one of the Russian audit companies. In the course of the work, the theoretical foundations of risk management were considered, the concepts of audit of financial statements were determined, the features of audit audit projects were examined, the entire risk management process was carried out, namely: identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis through simulation. Based on the results of the study, operational, organizational, personnel and technological recommendations were presented that will help to improve the risk management process of projects in the analyzed company.
