The competencies of project managers vary greatly depending on the industry. In the field of software development, there is a trend towards a transition from classical design methodologies to flexible ones. This trend affects the required competencies for project managers. In technology companies, there is usually only one manager in a product team; he is responsible not only for the project, but also for the product. Thus, one person simultaneously performs two roles: project and product manager. It follows that competencies related to product management are mandatory for managers in the software development industry. However, the profession of a product manager is quite new and does not have a clearly standardized set of necessary competencies. The lack of a standardized set of competencies impedes the development of specialists and forces them to develop spontaneously and unsystematically. For the contracting party, the lack of a standard in this area leads to problems in evaluating a specialist. Purpose of work. Identify the required set of competencies for the product manager. Based on the identified set of competencies, create a professional framework.
