The present degree work on a subject "Prospects for adapting the labor market to the consequences of the pension reform of the Russian Federation" is devoted to the study of the consequences of pension reform in the labor market. Through analysis of foreign and domestic literature, there were analyzed the reasons for reforming pension systems in the world. After monitoring the socio-economic indicators for the last years in Russia, it was found that an increase in the number of older people and a decrease in the number of labor force are characteristic not only for other countries, but for Russia too. By analyzing the state of the labor market by economic indicators and media cases, it was found that reforming the pension system did not have the most favorable effect on the market, as tensions increase due to the increase in the retirement age in the labor market. In order to find out how effective the innovations in the pension system are and why older people continue to work even after retirement, the calculation of the pension payment was carried out, which showed that despite the fact that the calculation of the pension has changed, its size remained unsatisfactory. Based on the data that was obtained recommendations were made on improving the state policy in the field of pension provision and labor market regulation. Key words: pension reform, labor market, employment, unemployment, older people in the labor market, pension calculation.
