The research paper is dedicated to the study of the spatial organization of economic activity in the tertiary sector of several large European urban agglomerations – Paris, London, Berlin and Moscow. Each of these cases considerably has its own specific spatial economic structure formed by the aspects of the local historical and institutional context. Particular attention is paid to the case of Moscow and the analysis of the possibility of its representative comparison with the other cases.
