The work deals with Venetian institutions and practices of natural resources management on Terraferma, Venetian possessions in north-eastern Italy, at the end of XIV - first half of XV century. By analyzing the lettere ducali, messages issued on behald of the Venetian doge, from the collection of WES SHA of SPbIH RAS the author concludes that the Venetian magistrates actively interfered in the affairs of their subjects on Terraferma and contributed to the solution of their problems, if they were related to the security and stability of the Republic.
