Analysis of the PIK Broker Company's Potential for International Expansion

This paper presents an analysis of the opportunities for the international expansion of PIK-Broker Company. The research is based on the OLI-paradigm, which was modified according to the special conditions of the real estate market. That, in turn, allowed also finding appropriate markets for further expansion. The Company’s strengths were identified using the general analysis of its activity, business model of the canvas, and VIRO analysis. Then we conducted a risk evaluation in two stages: first – considering potential countries for expansion taking into accounts some general characteristics that increase the probability of successful business activity; second – more thorough research external conditions and local advantages of the countries chosen on the first stage. Then, applying the OLI paradigm we identified the most convenient internationalization model is direct investment, namely greenfield investment. To verify the model’s efficiency we simulated the company’s activity on potential markets using financial modeling. We also considered the effect of COVID-19 pandemics on the Company’s opportunities for entering the international market in the long run.
