Student: Chebotarev Nikita

Supervisor: Elena Ivanova

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Computer Systems and Networks (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2020

This work is dedicated to the research and development of adaptive cache controller. As a result of the work, a soft controller, that meets the goals listed above, was designed and implemented, and also three replacement policy controllers. The controller uses the command addresses and their types to select the caching algorithm, and substitution policy controllers for their application. The commands used are mips-like. All source code is written in the Verilog hardware description language using the Modelsim development and modeling environment. Chapter 3 discusses the main existing cache architectures and selects one of them. Chapter 4 discusses substitution policies, their strengths and weaknesses, and the situations in which they are applicable. Chapter 5 gives an overview of analogues, and chapter 6 describes the result of the research and the developed system. In the work 36 images, 6 listings and 15 sources were used.
