This work is devoted to the consideration of perishable food supply chains. The work consistently talks about what types of cargo are included in the concept of perishable and what characteristics they possess. The next question is devoted to the peculiarities of perishable goods transportation by various types of transport, including air, rail, sea and river, as well as automobile. The relevance of the topic is emphasized by the disclosure of existing problems in the transportation of perishable goods in the Russian Federation. The practical part is explained by the example of the agro-industrial holding MIRATORG. Miratorg is recognized as the best producer of pork and meat products in Russia. To study the company, modern methods of scientific research are used: descriptive, comparative, analysis, methods of calculating economic profitability. And the solution to the problem of determining the optimal transportation route, when the perishable cargo is the least time in transit, is solved by searching for the route for the Traveling Salesman problem.
