Increasing Transportation Efficiency in Supply Chains

The transport system of each state equips the country with the necessary transportation for organizing the work of the economy and the functioning of society. Transportation is a process that is not limited only to the supply of goods and passengers on a specific type of transport on specific routes indicated in the contract. Transportation is a series of sequential actions that provide the most favorable conditions for the consumer in terms of reliability and safety of movement in various directions and within a specified time frame. At present, the execution of the process of transporting goods and passengers cannot be imagined without transport logistics. Large orders for the transportation of goods within the state, between different countries, and in addition, all types of international transportation must be carried out with pre-agreed and logically sound transportation routes and a plan that will be demonstrated in an accessible and visual form to the customer. This work is aimed at developing the necessary measures to increase the efficiency of transportation in the supply chains, relying on a sufficient theoretical base and methodological component. This thesis examines the process of organizing the transportation of goods in supply chain management. The theoretical foundations of transport logistics are described, the foundations of the organization of cargo transportation are determined, the main methods for increasing the efficiency of transportation are considered. The paper presents the results of the formation of the route selection algorithm, which allows to minimize transportation costs, taking into account restrictions. The problem posed in the work for optimization was solved using linear programming and using the “just in time” concept. The just-in-time concept is based on a differential assessment based on customer relevance.
