Resource Flows Management in the Organisation of Museum Festivals

Abstract Purpose - The purpose of this research is to define consistent patterns between types of logistic activities and types of museum festivals. Design/methodology/approach. The research is based on the information about museum festivals held in Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region. A mixed approach of methods is used in the article, including content analysis of web data, interviews with the experts who represent the museum festivals and creating several case studies about museum festivals of different types took place in and around the city in 2019. Findings. The study identified several approaches for separating museum festivals by types of their content and types and identified logistical tasks which occur while the festivals are organized. Originality. This article explores the topics of museum festivals and logistical flows together. There are almost no articles with crossover of these two themes and they are not studied yet at once.
