The thesis is made up of 74 pages with 45 references. This thesis examined the concept of design thinking in the context of organizations in order to better understand its potential role in the development of innovative opportunities. The results are based on the empirical studies of companies that claim to use design thinking, and design thinking research papers that target latitude and depth. In this thesis it was proposed to understand design thinking as a concept of management, which, being integrated into various organizational contexts, can take different forms and, therefore, can lead to different results.Various ways of applying design thinking tools and methods in practice have been shown. In the thesis, design thinking is also presented as a great promise to organizations and as a set of common and idealistic values. From the point of view of the role of design thinking in creating innovative potential, this thesis shows that the use of design thinking is perceived as a balancing action, which can take several years to improve, but ultimately can lead to a slow opening of the organization’s alternative ways of working with innovations.
