Psychoanalytic Approach to the "Matryoshka" Phenomenon

The master's thesis presents an analysis of theoretical material regarding the “matryoshka” phenomenon and a practical study of this phenomenon on the example of cases of author’s patients. Issues such as incestuosity of mother-daughter relationships, the role of the father in dividing the dyad, the influence of transgenerational traumas of the history of Russia of the 20th century on the formation of "matryoshka" are investigated. A historical overview of research on transgenerative transmission of trauma is given. The features of psychological mechanisms in the first, second, third and fourth generations of the “survivors” and in the descendants of the “persecutors” are given. Various mechanisms of transmission of trauma are described. The author explores the features of working with the "matryoshka" phenomenon in a psychoanalytic approach and gives relevant recommendations.
