Annotation The purpose of this research is to study the control and supervision activities of state bodies in the field of entrepreneurship, search for problems in legislation, and possible solutions. Thus, the research goals are determined as follows: dwell on the right to engage in business activities, prohibitions, restrictions and responsibilities in this area; study the history of formation of legal regulation of business activity in modern Russia; consider the powers of control and supervisory bodies to conduct inspections and bring individuals engaged in business activities to administrative responsibility; study the state control and protection of entrepreneurs' rights, ways of solving the problem. The study showed that the legislation is an unsystematic and terms "control" and "supervision" are not separated, that's why it happens a mixture of their features and functions. Thus, modern legislation should be modernized, more precise wording should be introduced into the Law, and judicial practice should be reduced to uniformity. Thus, special attention should be paid to distinguishing the concepts of control and supervision, as well as to form a clear list of types of control and organizations that will implement them.
