This graduate qualification work is devoted to theoretical and practical research of one of the fundamental processes of formation of the human psyche - separation. Currently, there is a tendency towards late maturation, infantile behavioral style and unwillingness to take responsibility for their lives not only among young people, but also among the adult population of our country, which in turn is combined with a low level of motivation and awareness, causing the relevance of this study. The process of separation is quite complex and lengthy, with both biological and psychological prerequisites, and ultimately represents a separation from a meaningful object and the acquisition of one's own individuality. Thus, the basic essence of separation is to realize oneself as distinct from the other and to accept these differences while maintaining an emotional connection with it. The aim of the study is to identify the components that influence the positive outcome of separation, or lead to a negative result. It is known that an untimely, early, sharp separation of a child from a caring adult (mother) can cause serious psychological trauma and lead to irreversible consequences. In this work is made a theoretical analysis of the works of Z. Freud, A. Green, J. Lacan, M. Klein, M. Mahler, D.W. Winnicott, J. Bowlby, etc. (chapter 1); analyzed several clinical cases of female infertility in terms of separation with significant objects (chapter 2); analyzed the ratio of separation and fear of disintegration on the example of a patient with a psychotic structure of functioning (chapter 2); conducted a psychoanalytical analysis of the film "Volchok" (2009) in the context of research into the nature of separation anxiety (Chapter 3).
