Software for MacOS Based on Metal to Create a 3D Model

OpenGL has been the main low-level API for rendering 2D and 3D graphics on macOS until Metal, an API that combines functions of OpenGL and OpenCL, was released in 2014. Because Metal is a fairly new software that has been released, there are not enough Russian resources available for learning it. The aim of this project is to develop a rendering pipeline in Metal that runs on macOS operating system as well as to construct documentation in the Russian language. The results of the work is a rendered rose animation, that was created by three passes render pipeline. The software shows the image of a bouquet of roses that is rotating on the plane. The light of several hundred-point sources of light falls on the models. The vase casts a shadow from the directed light, sun, as well. Keywords: metal API, rendering, shadow, animation.
