The paper is devoted to the analysis of the current regulation of professional activity of brokers in the security market. The author examines the investors' risks relating to the involvement of a financial intermediary and ways of its mitigation from the viewpoint of the best practices implemented by applicable regulations. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of the best practices of professional activity of financial intermediaries of European jurisdictions in the context of approaches to the conflict of interest rules.
