Methods for Recognizing Key Terms in a Text

A term is a word or phrase denoting a specific concept of any special field of science, technology, art, production. This paper reviews criteria and methods for automatically extracting terms. The experiments describe the automatic extraction of terms from single Russian-language scientific texts using machine learning methods. As a result, the automatic extraction of terms from a single document can be used to compile a glossary and subject index of this text, as well as to solve the problem of extracting information from a text.
