Bringing the Diaspora Back in: External Voting as a Tool of Authoritarian Stability

Current study is focused on the analysis of the interplay between Turkey's diaspora policy , external voting right and new regime change. The analysis examined these phenomena over the time period of 18 years under the AKP. The results revealed that in the context of Turkey external voting rights in Turkey serves as an authoritarian survival strategy.
