This study is based on a comparison of financing, funding and support statistics in Russia and Europe. Initially, startups as a new type of business were not studied enough to create more complex startups, but now most countries have their own startup development environment to support. Prior to this study, no similar research has been found comparing startup financing and support. In this case, the research analyzes statistics on startups in Russia, their financing and support, in comparison with European countries, different hypotheses are made about what the difference between the two environments can be and what conclusions follow. In the comparison process, Austrian Startup Monitor 2019 and EU Startup Monitor 2018 provide the basis for comparison on the part of European countries, and on the part of Russia - Startup Barometer 2019. The result of the study is the formation of arguments useful for the scientific community for further research and ideas for the business community, which can use the results of the thesis strategically. Presumably, the study can also help government institutions supporting startups and other similar organizations to get new ideas about how to interact with local startups.
