In this study we investigate the role of prosody in conflict. The purpose of this work is to identify and compare prosodic features of speech in a conflict situation in men and women of different ages. The material is presented by speech samples from female and male talk show participants aged 20-25 and 50-70. Praat, which is open source scientific software for speech analysis, has been used to extract the features. The results showed that in every case the conflict is expressed in considerable increases in pitch levels and speech intensities, as well as a decrease in pausing. The speaker's gender affects prosody, but the significant influence of age is not confirmed.
