The research "Religious-Mystical and Mythological Motifs in the Poetry of R. M. Rilke and G. Trakl" reveals the main concepts important for symbolism, especially for symbolist poetry. The text is devoted to the study of the basic concepts of the Symbolist worldview, including mystical and religious perception, ways of its actualization in literature, including through a system of motifs on the example of poetic works of specific authors. The research also explains the aspects to be taken into account in the process of analysis of Symbolist poetry: Symbolist mysticism is associated with a special understanding of the divine principle and religion. The poet's religious meaning did not correspond to the canonical vision of faith, as it was also based on a subjective perception of reality. Moreover, the poetic text includes both religious and mythological reality. The research also provides a structural-semantic analysis of religious-mystical and mythological motifs, which highlights both the similarities and differences in the functioning of motifs in the texts of the authors, on the basis of which conclusions are proposed to illustrate the influence of the epoch and general ideas of literary tradition on the worldview and creativity of individual authors.
