The Lexical Originality of the Subject Area "Security Sphere" in the Aspect of Russian-English Translation

The research studies originality of the lexicon in the “security sphere” subject area and methods of specific vocabulary translation from Russian into the English language. Main methods are based on computer programs that allow ones to collect a corpus of specific texts from open sources on the Internet, to lemmatize collection of text and to create the list of security sphere terms, which are going to be translated into English. English translation is provided by the contemporary hybrid machine translation and “manual” check of the thesaurus at every stage of work. New Russian-English thesaurus of security sphere also allows to find out, whether there is a special distribution of terms according to their attributive constructions and the practical proportion of noun phrase in the Russian thesaurus comparing to its proportion in the English thesaurus. There are certain problems that arise while creation of an ontology as a basis for the thesaurus, such as terminological variation, errors during text collection or text lemmatization or machine translation, the question of subjectivity and quality of thesaurus, and all these difficulties are also studied in the research.
