Nowadays, the topic of climate change (CC) is becoming more popular, but most of the research is devoted to the environmental or economic component of this process. In domestic literature, there is an almost complete absence of sociological literature on the topic of attitudes towards CC. However, this concept is interesting due to its importance in instilling ecological values and from the point of view of considering the influence of various characteristics on it, since there is a certain overshadowing of the “usual” socio-demographic characteristics by personal characteristics, such as values, worldview, political orientation and others. Significant role of “usual” characteristics can be observed in their ability to differentiate similar countries according to the aspects of the influence of these characteristics on the mentioned attitudes. The purpose of this study is to assess this ability, and determine the place of “usual” socio-demographic characteristics among other characteristics in the frame of the cross-country analysis on the topic of attitudes towards CC. To find it out, it is proposed to use a quantitative research design based on the European Social Survey data for European countries (2016).
