Thesis is devoted to the study of external and internal differentiation of the community of Orthodox people living in Russia. The purpose of the study is to determine what factors influence the presence of one or another religious worldview, in particular, concerning the ideas about the image of a higher power. The work consists of three chapters: theoretical, containing a review of literature on religious syncretism in Christianity, methodological, dedicated to the development and conduction of the study, and analysis of the collected data. The work uses primary data collected through online surveys. The sample consisted of 306 people. As a result of the analysis, a new categorization of Orthodox people was proposed, depending on a person's perception of higher power, and social and religious characteristics determining belonging to each category were defined.
