Public Health and Ways to Improve the Organization of Medical Care in Rural Areas of Russia

Providing the accessibility and quality of medical care at all stages of its provision is one of the principles of the protection of citizens’ health and one of the State’s priorities in the health sector. A lot of attention is paid to improving the accessibility of medical care in sparsely populated and remote regions of constituent entities since the country's geographical specificity is to preserve a significant part of rural areas. The purpose of the research: determining the ways to improve the organization of medical care in rural areas, including specific regions, based on the study of the health condition of the population and the identification of existing problems in the organization of medical care to the rural population. The scientific and practical significance of the research is that on the basis of the analysis of the medical and demographic situation and the health condition of the population in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the study of the features of regional healthcare systems, recommendations for improving the organization of medical care in rural areas have been formulated. Based on the results of the author's research of the opinion of health experts and doctors on problems that impede the development of medical care to the rural population, proposals have been made to eliminate the shortage of medical care personnel in rural areas of the Russian Federation.
