Educational Programme: Information Science and Computation Technology (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 10

Year of Graduation: 2020

The object of development is a 3D printer control system with the ability to remotely control the device using any browser. The aim of the project is to develop a 3D printer control system on SoC (System-on-Chip) using an algorithm for stepper motors control with the possibility of acceleration and a printing server for remote control of the printer. In the course of the work, an algorithm for the synchronous control of stepper motors was developed including the possibility of acceleration during turns. This algorithm was used to design a control system on the FPGA, which is responsible for the execution of the basic G-Code commands. An HPS system has been developed for its management, which controls it via incoming server commands. The server has a graphic interface that provides remote control of the printer from the device’s sensors signals and indicators processing to remote control of kinematics and heating elements. The user connects to the system through a request in the browser. Therefore, both remote printing file upload and manual control of each of the components are available for the user. The resulting system can be used to apply a remote control of various 3D printers with suitable mechanics. The volume of the report on final qualifying work, not including the annex, is – 53 pages. The number of tables in the work – 4, illustrations – 19, sources of literature – 26.
