The thesis is devoted to the topic of Jewish immigration to America in the early twentieth century, which is reflected in two stories by Yiddish writers - "Motl Boy" by Sholom-Aleichem and "America" by Sholem Asch. Migration often becomes the subject of novels, and this topic is especially important for Jewish literature, because Jewish people are nomadic, they have been traveling for centuries in search of their place in the world. The selected novels are interesting because they were written by two Jewish writers who themselves went through Jewish immigration to America, which means that they can convey an understanding of such important things as the nature of migration, the experience of migrants, nostalgia, and self-denial. Both stories are about families who immigrated to America in search of a better life. The subject in the novels is similar, but these two stories show two completely different experiences of immigration, as well as a different emotional mood, which is transmitted through such artistic features as narrative and space, which relate to the migrant reality and help to conceive it.
