The Impact of Social-Demographic Factor of an Employer on Motivation Using Distance Education

This study aims to determine the interplay of socio-demographic background and job performance, and how it has influenced by different motivational factors and method of primary pre-work education: distant or offline on employees of a call-center. The demographic factors included: age, gender, number of children, the fact of relocation, the status of a foreigner. As well as paper discusses the intrinsic and extrinsic types of motivation that explain the high variance of employee performance. The originality of the paper is supported by new variables used and the fact that the survey is conducted with information on employees of call-center at Tinkoff Bank. The chosen time-interval is the year of 2019. In addition to existing research done on the topic, the impact of distance and offline education were studied to find out whether distance education for the job can have a worsening effect on future job performance. Methods of descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression using OLS (ordinary least square) were used to test the relationship between motivation and employee performance. Data collection was organized by different instruments: questionnaire, collection of information from the corporate data warehouse. The results shows that age, gender, fact of having a distance education, having a child, work experience are significant predictors of quality and performance of workers and person’s likeliness of leaving or getting fired. This paper, therefore, might be necessary for recommendations for HR managers to monitor and ease the process of recruitment and inform hiring strategy. The new deployment of staff would lead to increased job performance based on educational qualifications, age, work experience,. Also, the findings can be used to monitor the post-recruitment process, and help to increase the performance of employees, implications for human resource management. The study, therefore, recommends that demographic factors be put into consideration when managing employee performance.
