A comparative analysis of leading foreign and Russian master's programs for business management in the fashion industry was carried out by comparing target competencies and methods of their formation, with a special emphasis on practices related to connecting students with the real industry. Based on the data obtained from the analysis of documents and interviews with representatives and students of programs, as well as experts from the labor market, conclusions are drawn about the content and organization of the educational process in the programs under consideration. Recommendations are given for improving the educational process in Russian master's programs for business management in the fashion industry. Key words: master's programs, target competencies, educational process, fashion industry.
