The object of research is a controlled semi-Markov process used to solve optimization problems in the reliability model. The purpose of the work is to solve the problem of determining the optimal strategy for managing the periodicity of planned restoration work in the presence of restrictions. The control parameter is the time from the start of operation of the system to the start of scheduled maintenance. A class of Markov homogeneous randomized control strategies is considered, when the periodicity is a random variable and the mathematical problem is to find the extremum of a linear-fractional functional over a certain set of probability distributions. In the analysis of maintenance models with instantaneous failure indication and in the absence of an independent indication, two indicators were considered management quality: readiness coefficient and income functional. In the work, solutions are found (optimal distributions are constructed) for ‘aging’ distributions, that is, distributions whose failure rate is increasing. An example illustrating the results of the work is considered.
