The thesis is devoted to the issue of the landscape in the N. A. Nekrasov's lyrics, and the identification of its functions. Beeing a poet who devoted his lyre to his people, Nekrasov focused more on urgent social problems than on painting in his work. However, the concept of the Motherland is inextricably linked with the world of people’s life, that is why descriptions of its wide open spaces and modest nature are an important part of his poetry. The major part of the research is the artistic analysis of poems. The analysis is based on a descriptive-functional method. The study of the features of the landscape in Nekrasov’s lyrics will help to better understand the deep meaning of the poet’s works, because landscapes are closely connected with the the poet's soul. They express his attitude to life.
