Optimal Order Quantity in the Supplier-Store System under Random Demand and Commodity Losses

Determining the economic order quantity has always been one of the most important issues in inventory management. In this paper, several models started from classic F. Harris EOQ model, proposed in 1913, up to its recent modifications, and statistics based optimal product stock calculation model are presented. This paper describes preliminary data analysis and proposes a data-driven custom model and dashboard app for ordering decision making, which takes into account actual for large retail companies problems, such as thefts, defects and poor data quality.
