Lustration: Constitutional and Legal Preventive Measure

This master's thesis examines lustration as a constitutional and legal institution, and also analyzes the legal nature of this phenomenon. The paper describes the legal regime of lustration, its compliance with the fundamental principles of law, its differences from other practices of a political and legal nature, and also reviews lustration measures in a number of European countries. The author also considers the legal nature of lustration. Special attention is paid to the problem of the applicability of lustration to a number of subjects that are not formally public servants, including clergy of traditional faiths. The dissertation can be used by students and undergraduates of higher educational institutions in the disciplines of "Law", "Political Sciences", "History". Key words: lustration, public (municipal) service, State-Church relations, transitional justice.
