Determinants of Economic Profit of Russian Retail Companies

Nowadays, due to the difficult situation in the country and in the world associated with the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), there is an increase in interest in retail companies. The global retail market is undergoing a series of global changes that could change the goals and strategies for the further development of large retail companies. Of course, this is due to the monitoring of the development of online technologies in retail. Companies adapted to the difficult situation and actively began to develop the online sales market and cope with the crisis. For the proper management of the company, managers need to understand what strategies they adhere to. In this work, research and analysis of the performance indicators of retail companies is carried out. The author of the paper analyzes the features of the activities of food retail industry companies in Russia and proposes an algorithm for studying the determinants of economic profit for retail companies in the food sector. The results of the study include the construction of a tree of determinants to determine the significance of factors in changing the economic profit of retail companies.
