The Narrative of Novel "Turetzkyi Gambit" by B. Akunin

The paper is to examine peculiarities of detective narrative as exemplified in Turkish Gambit by B. Akunin. In particular, The narrative structure and the system of archetypical characters of classical detective novel are examined. Practical part of the work constitutes the applying of complex narrative analysis to the text, then the comparison of the text with the classical detective novel. In the course of the research there have been revealed specific organisational features of common detective novel and in particular those of Akunin's one.
