This paper explores the relationship between child-centered play therapy and Carl Rogers' client-centered/human-centered approach. The duality of child-centered play therapy in its current state is shown. On the one hand, the direction goes back to the views of Carl Rogers on human nature and helping relationships. On the other hand, there are features that prevent this approach from being classified as classic Rogers. A discussion question about the possibility of working in the approach without developed "technological" tools is formulated. There is an assumption of similarity of game therapy with other therapeutic approaches based on spontaneity of creative - and not always verbal - manifestations of the client.
