This diploma work presents the results of studying the phenomenon of “Life as a Preface” script in the life of office employees. This phenomenon is considered in terms of the existential-phenomenological approach. Life “life as a preface” implies that a person delay living a full life for some future, when his some certain problems will be solved. Until that moment has come, he does not live a full life, but only prepares for it, as if he is writing a draft of his life. The purpose of this research is collecting the material, which could be used for compiling reflective practices. It supposes that those practices could be applicable in psychologists and psychotherapists work on issues of delaying a life for uncertain future by their clients (in this case, in office employees’ lives). For these purposes, in the empirical part, we set the task to study and identify the presence and specificity of the subjective office employees’ feeling of their life in terms of waiting / planning significant events. As part of the study, a quantitative study was carried out. The analysis was carried out using the specialized semantic differential method (using the “Semantic Differential “Lifestyle” method) and methods for diagnosing the meaningfulness of life (existence scale). The main result of the research maintained: 1. The presence of the “life as a preface” is detected. 2. The difference in the subjective understanding of one’s lifestyle, depending on whether something significant happens or not, is detected. However, the study has its peculiarity: the respondents' opinion is purely subjective, which gives the research this special value, but on the other hand, it gives a significant limitation.
