In this work, a component analysis of texts from the Ustja River Basin Corpus was carried out in order to study forms and semantics of pluperfect in the dialect of the Ustyansky District in the Arkhangelsk Region. The division into semantic groups of sentences containing “clauses” with studied forms is based on taxis classifications of pluperfect forms proposed by S.K. Pozharitskaya and also on the classification of pluperfect semantic types, proposed by D.V. Sitchinava. In the study, various meanings and functions of pluperfect constructions were identified, the examples were divided into groups regarding the existence and lack of historical pluperfect, taking into account pauses, determinants and the phrase position of these forms. It was also established in which examples the analyzed forms can be considered relicts of the Old Russian pluperfect. Key words: pluperfect, dialectology, Northern Russian dialects, the Vologda region's dialects.
